Deborah A. Bowman is an award-winning writer, editor, technical advisor, ghost-writer, proofreader, and manuscript/business-proposal/advertising/newsletter visual information specialist to include graphics prep, final layout, and reviewer for all genres (fiction, nonfiction, and business), both online and camera-ready (in print) media. She is proficient in Microsoft WORD, Microsoft Publisher, and associated software packages. She is a social media expert: Facebook.com/Bowmanbooks; www.bowmanauthor.com; LinkedIn, and twitter #Bowmanauthor. She has written blogs and web-site copy/visuals for herself and global clients. She is available for seminars, business coaching, and public speaking, especially on tricks-of-the-trade in writing, editing, and quality control, which is also presented on her blog. She is a firm believer that the quality of yester-year, which took months and sometimes over a year to manually prepare, can be adapted to the rapid technology of today. Of course, there are pros and cons to both, but her personal combination of these disciplines can enhance every writer and presenter, regardless of the subject matter. This is her unique specialty, and her meticulous attention to detail and quality is her forte.

She was certified as a Technical Writer/Editor with a Master’s Equivalent from the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture Grad School and worked as Supervisory Publications Control Officer for the Department of Defense for over 20 years, establishing format, written/edited copy, figures/tables, layout, and final authorization for Tech Manuals, Technical Reports, Standard Operating Procedures, public affairs media, and classified documents under the name D.A. Davisson. As Editor-in-Chief for The Federal Women’s Program newspaper “News & Views”, distributed in the continental U.S. Army-wide for over a decade, she wrote, edited, and prepared all camera-ready copy to include printed finished product. She has written articles and been Guest Editorialist for the “The Army Stars And Stripes” as well as full start-to-finish production of the Mobility Equipment Research and Development Center and Army Materiel Command Newspapers and other journalistic assignments.

She has recently (2014) completed a large project as ghost writer, editor, and publisher for a non-profit organization using the technical specs necessary to obtain private funding and government grants.

Bowman helped launch ebookstand.com (rated no. 3 in printing-on-demand by Oprah Winfrey) in the late 1990’s as writer, editor, formatter, and quality control expert, publishing one novel and one anthology of her own.

She is trained as an Advanced Certified Psychological Hypnotherapist (ACPH) by the National Guild of Hypnotists, running her own hypnotherapy company and writing scripts for the Guild nationwide. She specialized in ADHD teenagers and was featured in “The Washington Post” Parenting Magazine. She wrote a monthly column on hypnotherapy in “The Medical News” for many years. She has four published books on Amazon.com.
