Take a book down from the shelf
And read only for yourself
It’s not that you don’t care
But this time, no need to share
Words of beauty, wisdom, and depth
So strong that you have wept
O’er the joys, fantasy, and wealth
Of words that speak just to yourself
Pick a book, any book
And learn, indulge, and look
At worlds beyond yourself
Take a book down from the shelf
And open up the spine
To live another life…in your mind
Wonderful poetic advice just in time for summer reading 🙂
