Past and Future Lives? by Deborah A. Bowman

I believe that I have lived before.

It isn’t a religious belief or story from folklore.

It is a feeling down deep in my being

That fills me with inner knowing and seeing.

As a a young child I stared at the sky…

I wondered; I probed; I wondered why?

I knew that I was solitary and unique.

No one could change my belief or critique

The elated perception that I had returned

From elsewhere and somewhere as I re-learned

What it meant to be whole and human again.

I didn’t know how or where I had been.

I just knew of all the souls in the world

I had been chosen to be this little girl,

Lying on a grassy hilltop, watching the clouds and sun,

And a living, breathing, new life had begun.

Now I’m perplexed in my elder years

What it has all been for … so many tears.

What was I to accomplish this time?

What was I supposed to find?

I guess I missed it …
