Looking back, could I have done something more?
Something besides staring at the floor
Covered in needles, adrenaline vials spent?
Plastic wrappers tossed aimlessly
My life shattered shamelessly
But I didn’t even think about me
His body, now removed, was all I could see
I did no wrong
But he was gone.
I bent down and cleaned up the mess
Left by those who took him to his final rest.
What’s inside and what’s ouside?
Sure makes for a tumultuous ride!
What is up and what is down?
As you’re spinning all around
Looking inside yourself through a surreal bubble
Are you okay? Are you in real trouble?
Or have you split in two?
I think the dilemma is that you don’t know who…
You are … when you face yourself enclosed
In the psyche of another, the other
As the bubble grows…
Grief is like a rose
Be warned of the thorns
We find ourselves lost and alone sometimes
We don’t know how to cope
But that which combines
Beauty and hope
Can calm and heal the mind
Strength lies in the beauty of nature
We are never alone when we allow God to nurture
Sometimes it seems the world has let us down…
We hear the nightly news and cry or frown…
Who has died today? Who has lied? Who has hurt another?
Isn’t there something else we can do, something other
Than tears and fears, fright and fight?
Look to the beauty of the heavens above
That have no boundaries to calm your mind…
There is still peace and love in our lives…
This is what we must strive to release…
Pray for Peace…
